Today Jim says, "Get thee behind me... Pie!"  Willpower and resisting temptation.  Click here to listen to E5 of Exploring Awesome... a Jim Kellner experience

I made the mistake of putting myself in a position of having to resist more junk food than I was prepared for. Having lost weight - 50 lbs using hypnosis I've developed way more willpower than I ever had before but this was a tough thing to resist.  How'd I do it?  What's my plan for the future?  And what's the #1 way I've learned to resist temptation.

Also, announcing that I'll be back up in the Northwest in June and will be doing my comedy hypnosis show, Mental Magic, for some high school graduation parties and at Seattle's legendary Comedy Underground on June 8th, 2014.

The app I talked about can be found at http://thefabulous.co/  in the Google store.  I don't know if there is an iphone version.

Here's a link to the article I referenced http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/good-thinking/201306/how-boost-your-willpower

Stealing Happiness

Today Jim asks, "What's stealing YOUR happiness?" And invites us all to stop happiness thieves, engage in more meaningful fun activities, and explore ways to increase our overall happiness.  Click here to listen to E4 of Exploring Awesome... a Jim Kellner experience

I had a recent experience where I found that I was letting other people and events "steal my happiness".  I'm working to be more mindful of these happiness thieves and asking myself and YOU... what have you done lately for fun?  I also explore ways of increasing overall happiness sometimes in unexpected ways.

In this video I demonstrate a hypnotic induction with hand levitation suggestions.

My subject is Dr John Sutherland and it was filmed at North Mountain Cardio in Phoenix, Arizona.

You can give it a try.  Just find a quiet place to sit or lie down and listen with your eyes closed.

Small steps lead to big results.

In this very first episode I talk about how I began my journey to better health, losing over 50 lbs, and remaking my life completely.  Click here to listen to E1 of Exploring Awesome... a Jim Kellner experience

The three things I started with way back then:

One serving of fruit and vegetables each day.  Not much I know but back then I'd go months at a time without having hardly any fruit or vegetables that weren't fried or baked in a pie.
Meditation.  I'd wanted to start meditating for years but always told myself I'd do it tomorrow.  One of the things that had held me back is I didn't want to start a session and not know when to stop.  Apparently I was too stupid to set an alarm :)  The game changer for me was using an app.  Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the one I used in the beginning.  I might actually be the same one I use now which is meditation helper (free) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nwalex.meditation  There are a lot of them out there so try a few and see what works for you.  I like this one because it tracks how many days in a row you do it.  Sometimes I get to the end of the day and I'll do it even though I have a lot of resistance just because I don't want to break the chain.
Exercised just 5 minutes.  I remember every time I went to the doctor the nurse would ask me if I'd exercised.  I'd say "no" but assure her that I'd definitely get started this next week.  I never did because I kept telling myself I had to do at least 30 minutes which seemed daunting at the time.  She kept urging me to just start with 5 minutes.  Finally I did - it was a little tough physically but mostly mentally.  Boring, ugh I have other things to do... like watch tv, eat ice cream, etc.  Now while I do go through brief periods where I don't get much in I mostly exercise no less than 3-4 x week for 30-45 minutes.
